Hi all,

I think we'll try and do this after the 1st. I think both angles are worth pursuing and it doesn't have to be a holiday only concept. I'm also strapped for time right now as I'm running the SRQ diaper drive: diaperdrive.net.

Let's plan on catching up after the 1st because I think it's more doable then. Have a blessed and safe holidays Andi and Patti!

Hi Brian and Andi. Perhaps we could do it as either "one off"s or just have a day set aside after the 1st of Jan. There really is so little time to plan this. I wish I had heard about the movement prior to last week. Maybe we could plan something then and call it a New Year's gift to the community.

Hi Brian-

Might the food bank be able to help us promote the opportunity at the local pantry - maybe we could do a poster with a sign up sheet or something? That would at least allow us some "one off" chances to do a few portraits on the day...

Hey all,

Just an update...I think Andi might have the right idea for "one-offs" given the timeframe. I spoke with one of the directors of the Salvation Army, and while they really love the idea, the timing (holidays) they just can't do it. The want to talk about hosting it after things die down - after the 1st.

That being said, I'm open to ideas or if anyone knows someone anywhere else, I'd be happy to make contact with them.

Or perhaps a church would offer space. Or we could even use a park. Once we get the spot we can inform some social service organizations and churches who could recommend families. Maybe even a newspaper would let us use their facility. We really don;t have a lot of time. Brian, I'll email you my phone number.

Sounds good, I'm waiting for Kim at the Food Bank to give me some locations of pantry's around town we can connect with as the Food Bank typically, doesn't directly serve people. They're more of a distributor.

Let's maybe plan on having a call about this over the next week or so. I'm meeting with someone on Thursday who might also have some reinforcements to help us!

What if we did this two ways (or more if others have ideas)....we ask the food bank to help us promote the Help-Portrait project by posting the option to have a photographer take a portrait either at the food bank on the 12th OR at a location of mutual agreement (e.g. their home, a park, the beach) on the 12th. We could use a sign-up option starting as soon as is possible and go from there...
